Introducing... songs you can quarantine to!

Wow! We have made it to May! That time has just flown by. I think it’s safe to say these past few months have been hard for all of us. Here at Boom Island String Quartet, we’ve had a lot of disappointment with the postponement of our March recital and cancellation of events that we were looking forward to. However, we are happy to report that the music has not stopped. We have launched our new songs you can quarantine to series. This series features songs that make us feel good and connect us to one another! Let’s take a look.

Happy Together

This feel good song by The Turtles was the perfect start our songs you can quarantine to series. This catchy bop almost distracts you from the painful irony that is recording while sad and alone.

Hallelujah Chorus

The ultimate Easter song that has Christmas has stolen. In the context of Handel’s oratorio, this song is all about celebrating Jesus’s reception into heaven. That’s about as Easter as you can get. Playing this song was a reminder of years past when large ensembles would gather on Easter morning and celebrate.

Cantina Band

Our violist Alex is a die hard John Williams fan so it is no surprise that on May 4th, we were all rallied to play this Star Wars tune. It is jazzy, fun, and I think we all knew what day it was for the first time in awhile.
